据BBC报道，9月7日周一，在法国修读文学的学生基妮，身穿低胸装到访巴黎奥赛博物馆（The Musée d’Orsay）时，被博物馆工作人员挡在了门外。博物馆工作人员告诉她规矩就是规矩。一开始，她拒绝披上外套。基妮说，我不想穿上外套，因为我感觉被挫败，被威迫，我感到耻辱。我感觉每个人都看我的胸，好像我整个人就剩下胸，我就是一个被他们性征化的一个女人。最终她在披上外套之后才被允许进入。
基妮把这件事放在社交媒体上，被广泛传开之后。博物馆回应称，他们已经意识到一宗涉及一名访客的事件。我们为此深表遗憾，并向涉事的人士致歉，我们正在与她们联系。
基妮向BBC表示，她对于博物馆通过电话联系到我个人，并且非常理解，给我非常诚恳的道歉而感到满意。不过她觉得，博物馆在推特上的公开回应未能认识到事件当中的性别歧视成分。
报道称，事件中不明确的是，博物馆当时到底是引用哪一条规矩。《解放报》指出有一两条关于“衣冠整齐”的规矩，以及禁止穿着“有可能扰乱安宁”的服饰，但是该报相信，博物馆明确知道，这些规矩在这一宗事件中并不适用。
巴黎奥赛博物馆（The Musée d’Orsay）是巴黎最吸引观光客的地点之一，收藏着19世纪法国艺术界一些最著名的裸体作品。
