据法广网援引德国《商报》报道，德国总理默克尔和欧盟首脑将于下周一(9月14日)和中国国家主席习近平举行视频会议。该视频会议将取代本来计划在莱比锡举行的欧中峰会。莱比锡峰会因新冠疫情而取消。
德国政府副发言人马丁娜·菲茨表示，除默克尔外，欧盟委员会主席冯德莱恩和欧盟理事会主席查尔斯米歇尔也将参加视频会议。双方将评估欧中关系的现状，并讨论未来合作的途径，其中包括气候转变以及经贸问题。 此外，双方还将讨论国际政治的中心问题和其他重要话题，双方还将就对新关病毒的反应以及遏制政策进行交流。德国目前担任欧盟理事会主席国。德国和欧盟正在努力和中国达成投资保护协议。
