据法新社援引日本第11管区海上保安本部的消息报道，27日下午3点许，在钓鱼岛海上的台湾渔船接触了日本海上保安厅的巡查船。日本方面认为台湾渔船在日本的领海内违法作业，巡查船在与其并行并命令其从日本认为是“领海”的区域退出去的时候，巡查船的船尾左侧和渔船的船首右侧接触碰撞。巡查船的船体没有大的损伤，也没有受伤的人。台湾渔船也没有大的损伤，不影响航行。
据台湾《联合新闻网》27日报道，宜兰苏澳籍“新凌波236号”渔船27日下午在钓鱼台12浬海域作业时，遭日本海上保安厅公务船擦撞船首，造成右舷裂损，所幸7名人员平安，海巡署派遣基隆舰前往，傍晚抵达现场，戒护渔船返航。虽然钓鱼台12浬以内是争议海域，不得进入捕鱼，新凌波236号属延绳钓渔船捕鱼作业时，或许有可能漂过去一点，但无论如何在收网作业，日船都不应该“扫”我方渔船，怀疑整起事件难脱“故意”之嫌。
