据土耳其媒体1月15日报道，土耳其总统埃尔多安在安卡拉城市医院接种中国科兴生物研发的新冠疫苗。埃尔多安在接种新冠疫苗的第二天在社交网站分享中写道，我也接种了疫苗，自我感觉良好，28天后将接种第二剂。
土耳其正义与发展党发言人切利克(Ömer Çelik)在党中央执行委员会会议结束后表示，有关疫苗接种工作已经开始，保护我们公民免于新冠疫情的工作将以透明的方式进行。为引导和鼓励公民接受疫苗注射，我们的总统埃尔多安接受新型冠状病毒疫苗注射。
土耳其1月14日启动大规模疫苗接种工作，将分四个阶段为民众接种中国科兴生物研发的新冠疫苗。医务人员和高危人群将优先接种，第一阶段新冠疫苗接种将覆盖约900万人。大约50万人在接种首日及第二天接种了疫苗。在疫苗接种的第一天，处在第一组的卫生人员中的28万5千人接种了疫苗。继医务人员后，其他处在首列的人员也将接种新冠疫苗。
