奥地利总统范德贝伦（Alexander Van der Bellen）及其夫人施密道尔（Doris Schmidauer)24日违反防疫规定，在餐厅打烊时间过后，仍在首都维也纳一间意大利餐厅的户外用餐区逗留，被警察逮个正著。范德贝伦尔事后对自己的违规行为向全民道歉，承认自己犯错。

自5月起，奥地利严格规定餐厅酒吧只许营业至晚间23时。根据新冠病毒防疫法的规定，23时之后仍超时营业的餐厅酒吧最高需三万欧元罚金。因此涉事酒吧老板有可能会为其违规行为付出代价。不过，事发当时，这家酒吧对外宣称已经停止营业。

这是实施防疫限制以来，他第一次和太太及2名友人出门，76岁的奥地利总统范德贝伦对自己的违规行深表内疚。他表示：”聊天太过投入，以至于忘了时间，我犯了一个错误，对此非常抱歉。”他在推特上发文称：如果酒吧老板会为此蒙受损失，那我当然会替他承担后果。
